ZIMO LIU
LEVEL DESIGN / GAMEPLAY DESIGN

SHORT SUMMARY
I believe that strong design inspiration comes from real-life experiences, interests, and observations—not only from other games. Innovative designers are able to identify meaningful ideas in their own lives and translate them into experiences that players can understand, interact with, and enjoy.
When I play games made by passionate developers, I can often feel the care behind their decisions. That passion encourages them to experiment, iterate, and work through the challenges of production until their ideas are communicated clearly through the final experience.
I hope to grow into this kind of game designer, using level design as my starting point. I am currently learning how to identify and organize inspiration, turn abstract ideas into playable experiences, and use playtesting and iteration to narrow the gap between my design intentions and the player’s actual experience.
